Solutions Track materials
Outcome · Track materials

Know what you own, where it is, and which job just consumed it.

Every receipt, issue, transfer and return is a logged movement with a person, a time and a project attached — across the warehouse, site containers and every van.

The problem

Material is the cost nobody can see

Stock lives on a whiteboard, in a spreadsheet that was accurate last Tuesday, and in one person’s memory. Meanwhile it moves constantly between the warehouse, three sites and a fleet of vans.

Bought twice

The shelf looked empty, so it was ordered again at retail price — while the original sat in a van.

Tools that quietly vanish

Nobody is dishonest; there is simply no record of who took what to which site, so nothing comes back.

Cost lands on the wrong job

Material issued to one project gets consumed on another, and the numbers stop meaning anything.

The hidden cost of waiting

A crew of four standing idle for half a day because material could not be found costs more than most firms expect. Preventing it a handful of times a month usually pays for the system several times over.

Every movement leaves a trace

Issuing material to a project reduces stock, values it and posts the cost to the job in one action. Nothing extra happens — the same action people already take simply survives.

Traceability in everyday practice

The habit is small. The difference in what you know is not.

Forklift loading materials in a warehouse
Goods in against orders

Deliveries are received against the purchase order, so short and wrong deliveries are caught at the gate.

Warehouse team moving a pallet of materials
Issued with a destination

Material leaves the warehouse attached to a project and cost centre, never as an untracked handover.

What is on the vehicles is inventory too — visible, valued and transferable with a logged movement.

Palletised building materials in a warehouse
Counted less, trusted more

Levels follow real movements, so full stock takes give way to occasional spot checks.

Tracking construction materials — FAQ

Not to start. Most firms begin with searchable lists, which works well. The system is barcode-ready, so you can add scanning later using ordinary phone cameras.
Yes. They are locations exactly like the main warehouse, so you can see what is in each and move stock between them with a logged transfer.
When stock is issued you pick the project and cost centre. The cost posts immediately at current valuation, with no separate accounting step.
Far less often. Because levels follow logged movements, most firms move from frequent full counts to occasional spot checks — and the app guides the count when you do one.
Both. Consumables are tracked by quantity; tools and equipment can be individual items with a named keeper, a location and check-out history.
Each item carries its own unit of measure, and quantities and valuations respect it throughout.
